Company Profile
Formerly
known as the patent department of the State Metallurgical Ministry of
China, Huahe&Partners Intellectual Property Ltd. was founded in 1985
(the same year as the Chinese Patent Act came in force) and separated from
the SMM in 2001 following order NO. 51, 2000 of the State Council. Being one of the earliest
established Chinese IP practices, Huahe&Partners has now grown to a
firm with more than 50 employees, among whom 16 are qualified
attorneys. The firm provides
to its clients services in all aspects of patent, trademark, design and
copyright related matters.
Assisted
by experienced support staff and advised by technology experts from
academic institutes, the firm’s professional team consists of members of the first group of IP
professionals in China, former examiners of the SIPO, recently qualified
attorneys and trainees. Thanks
to the great mixture of people, the firm has over its peers the advantages
of technological expertise, comprehensive understanding of the legal
system and valuable insight knowledge of the practice of the Chinese SIPO
(and also as a Receiving Office under the PCT).
Huahe&Partners
has developed strong domestic and international client basis in various
industrial sectors such as electronics, mechanics, chemistry (including
pharmaceuticals) and life science, etc. Huahe&Partners has seen in the
past a few years a steady growth of the number of applications filed to
other countries and regions, and with many of its domestic clients
enjoying growing economic strength and technology advances, the firm has
every reason to believe that this growth will continue at an increasing
pace.
Headquartered in Beijing,
Huahe&Partners also has representatives/offices in the US, Germany, UK, Japan and South Korea, and domestic
offices in Guangzhou and Wenzhou.
